The SSMRCA has provided watershed management services to its member municipalities since it was established in 1963.
The SSMRCA is a member of Conservation Ontario, an organization representing all 36 Conservation Authorities in the province of Ontario.

Board of Directors

A 5 member board of directors collectively provides direction and lead the Conservation Authority through its policies, programs and budgets. Municipalities appoint representatives to the the board. Most appointees are also municipal councillors but citizen appointees can be board members.

The board agendas and minutes are available to view on our Board Meetings page. Regular Board meetings are open to the public, In-Committee meetings are closed to the public and are required in order for Board Members to consider confidential information.

The SSMRCA Strategic Plan was approved in 2016 which includes mandate, vision and mission statements.
