Introduction to Birding

Have you heard about Birding? Love birds but not sure where to go to see them? What to know what people do when they go bird watching? If you want an introduction to one of North America's most popular outdoor activities, then the Sault Ste. Marie Region Conservation Authority will provide an opportunity for you on Saturday, June 9, 2018 in the Fort Creek Conservation Area.
 
This guided hike is a fun and educational "Introduction to Birding". This session will include a discussion of how to choose and use binoculars, some birding apps for your phone and, of course, a walk in the Fort Creek Conservation Area to enjoy some of the birds that live there.
 
This will be a slow walk on the Hub Trail in Fort Creek for 2 to 3 hours, looking for birds and talking about avian ecology.
 
Don't forget to bring binoculars or your camera, equipment will not be provided.
 
Be sure to dress appropriately for all types of weather (rain or shine) including proper footwear and bug repellent!
 
This is a "no pet" event, please leave you furry friends at home for the morning.
 
Meet in the Fort Creek Conservation Area parking lot off of Second Line at 6:46 a.m. the fun will begin at 7:00 a.m. Coffee will be provided.
