Source Protection Committee

The six member Sault Ste. Marie Region Source Protection Committee (SPC) was established November 16, 2007 to fulfill the requirements of theClean Water Act, 2006 and its corresponding regulations.

The role of the SPC is to guide the development of three key documents that complete the source protection planning process for the Sault Ste. Marie Region Source Protection Area and to ensure that all relevant information is being taken into account when protecting our local sources of drinking water now and in the future. The Sault Ste. Marie Region SPC have successfully coordinated the development of a Terms of Reference, an Approved Assessment Report and an Approved Source Protection Plan for the area.
