Puddle on Your Plate


This activity introduces the concept of virtual water that is embedded water in our food. Students will explore the implications of importing and exporting virtual water. As a class or in groups, students will calculate the virtual water “cost” of selected food items. How do our food choices affect our overall water consumption?


A variety of grade levels and expectations can be addressed.
