Permit Application

permit picTo ensure your application will be processed in a timely manner, please complete all sections of the application.

Processing will not begin if any part of the application is incomplete and/or if payment is not submitted.

Once a permit application and the associated fees are submitted, staff will either confirm that the application is complete, or provide you with a list of missing or incomplete information. Staff will strive to provide this confirmation within 21 days. Once all information has been submitted and the application is deemed complete, staff strive to complete a review of the application within the timeframes as outlined below.

Application approvals are based on the Decision Timelines listed in the table below.

 

Major applicataion

Decision (recommendation to approve or refer to a hearing)

  • Within 28 days after a complete application is received.
  • Within 30 additional days upon each re-submission.

Minor application

Decision (recommendation to approve or refer to a hearing)

  • Within 21 days after a complete application is received.
  • Within 15 additional days upon each re-submission.

Routine application

Decision (recommendation to approve or refer to a hearing)

  • Within 14 days after a complete application is received.
  • Within 7 additional days upon each re-submission.

Notice of Collection

Pursuant to the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the personal information contained on the application form is collected under the authority of the Conservation Authorities Act, RSO 1990, c27. The information is used to assess applications and for contact and dissemination of approved Development, Interference with Wetlands & Alterations to Shorelines & Watercourses permits to the property owner, as well as Municipal, Provincial and Federal departments.
